The Denton car show Pistons and Paint was started by the Chupacabras car club in 2001 in the parking lot of a chroming shop in Garland Texas. Their plan was to build an event focused on kustom kulture, autos and art. Thirty-eight cars registered the first year and a few Roth inspired artists showed their work. The Pistons and Paint car show continues to grow each year with a registration over 500 cars in 2015.
