The City of Houston has hosted almost every sporting event in the last year, except for a major Motorsports festival. Strada Corsa Houston/NASA Johnson Space Center Vintage Auto Racing Event will fill this role with its inaugural 3 day event on May 4-6, 2018 supported by the Houston Sports Authority, Houston First, Convention and Visitors Bureau, NASA’s Johnson Space Center and Space Center Houston.
It is anticipated that 30,000-35,000 spectators will be present over the three-day period. As a charitable entity, the net festival income will support Space Center Houston’s expansionefforts. The opportunity exists for the City of Houston to grow Strada Corsa Houston into a Signature National Event, similar to those held at Monterey Car Week at
Pebble Beach and the Amelia Island Florida historic car festival. Besides the local publicity and entertainment potential, Strada Corsa Houston will offer national media coverage to participating corporate partners. Spectators will be treated to numerous vintage automotive and aerospace displays.
While celebrating the early years of space flight, Space Center Houston will be featuring the Boeing Aerospace exhibit, in addition to conducting tours featuring Mission Control, the Space Shuttle, the Saturn 5 rocket booster and other historic vehicles.
This event will consist of approximately 400 race teams all racing on a 3.4 mile street course through NASA Johnson Space Center all competing for a great cause. Because the event falls on Cinco De Mayo weekend, We will be honoring Mexico's 2 SuperStar Road Racing legends, Ricardo and Pedro Rodriquez, on Saturday, May 5th 2018.
