"Ten years ago, [Ed. ~1998] about 15 owners of street rods made a trip from the Conroe-Houston area to the Chicken Oil Company in College Station. These car enthusiasts, led by William Luckey of Conroe, decided that they would get together on the first Sunday in January of each year. Since that first meeting, hundreds of street rodders make their journey to Bryan-College Station to join fellow rodders from all parts for this once a year event."
